Passed Class XII or 10+2 from CBSE/ ICSE/ IB board or equivalent, securing 80% or more marks in the aggregate of best of five subjects including Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 80% or more marks in Mathematics. The result of 10+2 should have been declared by the last date of applying. If the board has more than five subjects for aggregate, the best five are taken into account. The candidate must have been declared eligible for Central Counselling by the CBSE.
Note 1 : The applicant must be 17 years of age and maximum 25 years of age on or before the 1.10.2016. The relaxation in minimum age up to one year only with the approval of Competent Authority is permissible (Such candidate should apply for relaxation only at the time of admission). The candidates who are short in age by more than one year are not eligible for admission.
Note 2 : The SC/ST category candidates are allowed 10% concession of marks in the minimum eligibility requirements. The OBC-NCL, PD & Defence category candidates are allowed 5% concession of marks in the minimum eligibility requirements.
Note 3 : 85% of the total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Delhi Region (Students passing the qualifying examination from recognized Board/ College/ Institution located within the NCT of Delhi only) and 15% of the total seats for candidates belonging to outside Delhi Region (Students passing the qualifying examination from recognized Board/ College/ Institution located outside the NCT of Delhi). For a candidate who has passed the qualifying examination through Patrachar Vidyalaya, Delhi/ National Institute of Open School, Delhi, the criterion for deciding the region shall be the location of his Centre of examination.

The admission is based on the score in the JEE (Main) Exam conducted by JEE Apex Board of the C.B.S.E. (For details visit www.jeemain.nic.in) and marks scored (normalized) in the Class 12th or 10+2 in the ratio of 60:40. The On-Line Counselling for admission is conducted by Joint Admission Counselling (JAC Delhi). The candidates are required to fill Online Application Form for admission (For details visit www.jacdelhi.nic.in/Candidate/Default.aspx).
Note : The admissions of Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/ Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) under Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) is based on the score in the SAT (For details visit www.dasanit.org/dasa2016/).

Four Academic years comprising of 8 Semesters.

For M. Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering: B.E./ B.Tech. in Computer Science/ Computer Science & Engg./ Information Technology/ Electronics & Communication Engg./ Electrical & Electronics Engg. OR MCA OR M.Sc. degree (Computer Science & Engg./ IT/ Electronics or equivalent) securing 65% marks or a CGPA of at least 6.5 out of 10 with valid GATE score in CS/IT, EC/EE. The applicant must have at least 60% marks in all previous Degrees including 10+2.
For M. Tech. Computational Biology: B.E./ B. Tech. in Computer Science/ Computer Science & Engg./ Information Technology/ Maths & Computing OR B.E./ B. Tech. in any other discipline and must have done in their program : at least one Computer Programming course, and at least two Mathematics courses securing 65% marks or a CGPA of at least 6.5 out of 10 with valid GATE score. The applicant must have at least 60% marks in all previous Degrees including 10+2.
Note : The SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PD & Defence category candidates are allowed 5% concession of marks in the minimum eligibility requirements.

The candidates are required to apply On-Line on the University/ Institute Website. The applicants are screened on the basis of GATE scores as well as their previous academic record. The screened candidates have to appear for a On-line Written Exam at IIIT-Delhi. Depending on the results of this Test, the candidates are invited for Interview conducted by the IIIT-Delhi Faculty members (For details visit www.iiitd.ac.in/).

Two Academic years comprising of 4 Semesters.

For Ph.D. in CSE/ ECE: B.E./ B.Tech. in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics & Communication Engg./ Electrical Engg. with 70% marks or a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 OR M.E./ M.Tech./ MS in CS/ IT/ ECE/ EE with 70% marks or a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (at both UG & PG level) OR MCA/ M.Sc. Degree in CS/ IT/ ECE/ EE and allied areas with the condition that these candidates have B.Sc. in Computer Science or B.Sc. in any other subject with Mathematics as one of the courses, with 70% marks or a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (at both UG & PG level) OR M.Sc. in Mathematics provided that the candidate has secured at least 70% marks in both B.Sc. and M.Sc. and he/she has strong inclination towards CS/ECE. The GATE/ NET/ GRE/ TOEFL scores are optional.
For Ph.D. in Mathematics: B.E./ B.Tech. in Computer Science/ Electronics & Communication Engg./ Maths & CS and similar inter-disciplinary programs with 70% marks or a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 OR M.E./ M.Tech./ MS in CS/ ECE/ Maths & CS and similar inter-disciplinary programs with 70% marks or a CGPA of at least 7.5 on a scale of 10 (at both UG & PG level) OR M.Sc. in Mathematics provided that the candidate has secured at least 70% marks in both B.Sc. and M.Sc. The candidates should have JRF from either UGC or CSIR or NBHM or valid GATE score.
Note 1 : 5% relaxation in marks obtained in X, XII, B.Tech., M.Tech. and other Degrees is given to SC/ST/PD & Defence category candidates during screening as well as all the Ph.D. Entrance Exams held on campus.
Note 2 : The candidates who are appearing in the final examination are also eligible to apply. They are required to give their last CGPA/aggregate percentage of marks. The requirements may be relaxed for exceptional candidates with Publications/ R & D/ Software Development experience in their area of interest or those from Institutes of National and International repute.

Regular Program:
The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi invites On-Line applications for admission in the months of March/April. The candidates are short-listed based on their previous academic performance and are invited for Written Test & Interview conducted by the respective Departments of the Institute (For details visit www.iiitd.ac.in).
Sponsored (Full Time) Program:
The candidates may be sponsored by a Company or by Educational Institutes. The candidates are short-listed based on their previous academic performance & Experience and are invited for Written Test, Programming Test & Interview conducted by the respective Departments of the Institute (For details visit www.iiitd.ac.in).
Rolling Admission:
The Applications are invited for rolling admission throughout the year under the following schemes : (i) Institute Fellowship scheme, (ii) Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT, (iii) Various research projects in operation at IIIT D. The eligible candidates can apply by sending an application directly to the faculty member of the Institute depending on his/her research interests – the application must include the C.V. and other relevant information. Additional requirements for candidates applying in ECE : M.Tech. candidates applying in ECE must mention 3 courses in the application & B.Tech. candidates applying in ECE must mention 4 courses in the application out of the courses listed below : Advanced Signal Processing, Analog CMOS Design, Antennas & Propagation, Communication Networks, Digital Communications, Digital VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, Introduction to Robotics, Linear Systems, RF Circuit Design, Statistical Signal Processing. The candidates are short-listed based on their previous academic performance and are invited for Interview conducted by the admission committee. Collaborative Ph.D. Program:
The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi has started a collaborative Ph.D. program focusing on explicit collaboration between IIIT-Delhi and some globally renowned Labs and Universities. Ph.D. scholars (except Sponsored candidates) have the option of joining this Program during the course of their Ph.D. In addition to the features of the regular Ph.D. program, other salient features of the collaborative Ph.D. program are : (i) Interview for admission may be done jointly by IIIT-Delhi and the partner group. (ii) The main supervisor of the Ph.D. scholar is from IIIT-Delhi, there may be a co-supervisor from the partner group. (iii) After completing the course work at IIIT-Delhi, the student may spend 3 months to 1 year with the co-supervisor at the Partner Group/ Institution for dissertation research. While the scholar is at the Partner Group/Organization, the stipend is paid as per their norms. (iv) Overseas Research Fellowships : Another attractive feature is the option to apply for an ORF to spend upto six months abroad working on ongoing collaborative projects between IIIT-D faculty and Foreign Institutions/Universities.
