Location of Rajsamand:

The District of Rajsamand is situated in Rajasthan State of Northwestern India. It is 4550.93 Sq. Km. in area. It is surrounded by District Pali on the West, District Udaipur on the South, District Chittorgarh on the Southeast, District Bhilwara on the Northeast and District Ajmer on the North. The City of Rajsamand is the headquarter of this District.

This District was carved out of District Udaipur on 10 April, 1991, and named after the famous ‘Rajsamand Lake’ built by Maharana Raj Singh of Mewar in the 17th Century. It is famous as the largest marble producing District in the Country and is also Asia’s biggest marble market.

This District has been divided into 7 Tehsils –

Tehsils – Amet, Bhim, Deogarh, Kumbhalgarh, Nathdwara, Railmagra, Rajsamand


Climate of Rajsamand:

The Climate of this District is mostly dry with four main Seasons –

  • Summer – From April to June when maximum temperature rises to 45oC, while average temperature remains around 35oC.
  • Monsoon – From July to Mid-September with average annual rainfall of 540 mm and temperature around 30oC.
  • Post Monsoon – From Mid-September to October end with average temperature around 25oC.
  • Winters – From November to March when minimum temperature falls to around 0oC, while average Day temperature remains around 20oC.
