The Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), is a premier Government University. It is one of the Oldest Engineering Colleges in India and Delhi’s first Engineering College. It was established in the year 1941 as ‘Delhi Polytechnic’ under the control of Ministry of Education, Government of India. In 1952, it got affiliated with University of Delhi and started formal Degree level Programs. In 1963, the administration of the College was handed over to the Department of Technical Education & Training, Government of NCT of Delhi. In 1965, it was renamed as Delhi College of Engineering. From July 2009, the DCE has become an Autonomous University named Delhi Technological University vide Delhi act 6 of 2009.

First Year of Engineering & Technology:
Passed I.S.C. Examination (12-year course) of the CISCE or S.S.C. Examination (12-year course) of CBSE or Any other examination recognized as equivalent to S.S.C. Examination from a recognized School/College/Institute and securing 60% marks (54% marks for SC/ST/PwD category candidates, 57% marks for OBC-NCL & Defence category candidates) in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The candidates must have passed English as a subject of study of the S.S.C. Examination Level (Core or Elective) and he/she must have passed in each subject separately.
Note: The applicant must be 17 years of age and maximum 25 years of age on or before 1st October of the year of admission.
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
Passed three-year regular Diploma in any branch of Engg. awarded by any State Board of Technical Education/ Diploma recognized by AICTE, Delhi with 60% marks (54% marks for SC/ST/PwD category candidates, 57% marks for OBC-NCL) or equivalent CGPA.

First Year of Engineering & Technology:
The admission is based on the merit/ rank in the JEE (Main) Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (For details visit www.nta.ac.in or https://jeemain.nta.nic.in). The On-line Counselling for admission is conducted by Joint Admission Counselling Committee. Note: 85% of the total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Delhi Region (students passing the qualifying examination from recognized School/ College/ Institution located within the NCT of Delhi only) and 15% of the total seats for candidates belonging to outside Delhi Region (students passing the qualifying examination from recognized School/ College/ Institution located outside the NCT of Delhi). Eligibility in Delhi Technological University (DTU)
Passed State Board Diploma Examination in Engg. of 3 years duration in any corresponding branch or any other examination, recognized equivalent there to by the Delhi Technological University with a minimum aggregate (aggregate of all six semesters/three years) of 55% marks (45% marks for SC/ST category candidates). The candidates having Diploma through Correspondence/Distance Education are not eligible for this program. The candidate must have an experience of not less than One year as on 1st September of the year of admission, in full-time employment, training or apprenticeship in Installation, Operation and Maintenance or some other recognized field of work in an approved Engineering Work/Organization and should be presently working in the Organization located in the NCT of Delhi and Contiguous Industrial Areas, i.e., Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Sonepat, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida & Greater Noida) and Gurgaon. The candidate must produce a ‘NOC’ in original from the employer which should be renewed annually.

Note 3: The final year students who will be completing all the requirements of their qualifying examination may also apply, but they will be required to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required percentage of marks or CGPA latest by 30th August of the year of admission.
Note 4: The Full-Time Sponsored candidates must be : Employees of PSUs or Govt. Departments or Educational & Research Institutions having 1-year experience as on 31st July of the year of admission. The eligibility requirement is same as for full-time candidates except that the requirement of qualifying in GATE is waived off. A Few candidates are also admitted through DRDO Schemes, for which the admission procedure is separate. These candidates should contact DRDO authorities for sponsorship.
Note 5: The Part-Time Sponsored candidates should have same work experience as in case of Full-Time Sponsored candidates with the additional requirement that such Organizations must be located within the Delhi NCR.

The admission of Full-Time candidates & Kashmiri Migrants is based on the score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE conducted jointly by the IISc and all the IITs. The admission to M.Tech. Industrial Bio Technology is based on the marks secured in the Written Test conducted by DTU.
The admission of Full-Time Sponsored candidates (except for DRDO sponsored candidates) & Part-Time Sponsored candidates is based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination.

The Screening Test is waived only for UGC/ CSIR/ DST/ JRF fellowship holders, Foreign students who apply through MHRD and Foreign students under Cultural Exchange Fellowship Program.
