Location of Dholpur:

The District of Dholpur is situated in Rajasthan State of Northwestern India. It is 3034 sq. Km. in area. It is surrounded by District Bharatpur on the Northwest, District Karauli on the West, District Agra of Uttar Pradesh State on the North, District Morena of Madhya Pradesh State on the South and East and State Uttar Pradesh on the East. The City of Dholpur is the headquarter of this District.

This District was earlier known as Dhawalgiri and later on Dhaulagir, and is now known as Dholpur.

This District has been divided into 5 Tehsils, 1 Additional Tehsil and 2 Sub-Tehsils –

Tehsils – Dholpur, Bari, Rajakhera, Baseri, Saipau

Additional Tehsil – Sarmathura

Sub-Tehsils – Mania, Kanchapur

Climate of Dholpur:

The Climate of this District is mainly hot and dry. This District experiences four main Seasons –

  • Summer – From April to June when maximum temperature rises to 49oC, while the average temperature remains around 36oC.
  • Monsoon – From July to Mid-September with average annual rainfall of 67 cm and temperature around 32oC.
  • Post Monsoon – From Mid-September to October end when average temperature remains around 27oC.
  • Winters – from November to March when minimum temperature falls to around 1oC and the average Day temperature remains around 20oC.
