The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is located at Hauz Khas in South Delhi, bounded by Sri Aurobindo Marg on the East, Jawaharlal Nehru University complex on the West, National Council of Educational Research and Training on the South, and the Outer Ring Road on the North. The Institute Campus is flanked by Qutub Minar & the Hauz Khas Monuments.

The Institute campus is about 10 Km from Domestic Terminal of the Airport, 14 Km from New Delhi Railway Station, 19 Km from Delhi Main Railway Station, 20 Km from lndira Gandhi International Airport. The nearest Metro Station is Hauz Khas.

Type of Institution & Facilities

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi was established in the year 1961 as the College of Engineering & it was affiliated to the University of Delhi. In the year 1963, it was declared an Institution of National Importance under the “Institute of Technology (Amendment) Act 1963” and was renamed ‘Indian Institute of Technology Delhi’.

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. The candidate must be among the ‘top 20 percentile of the successful candidates’ in his/her Boards, category-wise.

Admission Procedure

The admission is based on the score in the JEE (Advanced) Exam conducted jointly by the Indian Institutes of Technology, Indian Institute of Technology-(BHU) and the Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad. The candidate must have appeared in the JEE (Main) Exam conducted by JEE Apex Board of the C.B.S.E. (For details visit www.jeemain.nic.in) and he must be among top 1,50,000 candidates (including all categories) who qualify in Paper – I of JEE (Main) to be eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced).
The Admission is made by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation. Duration

For Full Time Programs:
For Direct Admission without Test/Interview: 75% marks or a CGPA of 8.5/10 in aggregate with GATE score >= 300 or qualifying score whichever is higher (for General/OBC-NCL category candidates), 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.5/10 in aggregate with GATE score >= 200 or qualifying score whichever is higher (for SC/ ST/ PH category candidates).
For Admission with Test/Interview: 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.75/10 in aggregate with GATE score >= 300 or qualifying score whichever is higher (for General/OBC-NCL category candidates), 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.25/10 in aggregate with GATE score >= 200 or qualifying score whichever is higher (for SC/ ST/ PH category candidates). The Qualifying Degree performance is computed by aggregating performance over all the semesters/years of the qualifying degree.
Note : The B.Tech. graduates from the IITs with a CGPA score of 8.0 or above (on scale of 10) are eligible for admission without having to appear in GATE.
For Part-Time/ Sponsored (Full-Time) Programs:
Only employees of PSU’s or Govt. Departments or R & D Organizations or Private Industries (approved by Faculty Boards) are eligible for admission to these programs. The candidates should have a minimum experience of one year after qualifying Degree and as on the date of registration. All the candidates are exempted from GATE requirement. Admission Procedure

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi invites On-Line Applications in the month of March every year. An advertisement is also issued in the Employment News as well as in leading Newspapers. All the candidates are required to register & fill the Application On-Line only. The Institute shortlists and invites a limited number of candidates for a Written Test and/or Interview based on the academic records and GATE score. Note 3 : For assistantship purposes, the candidates with M.B.B.S. qualification are considered equivalent to M.Tech. For candidates with M.A. degree in English, a 5% relaxation in marks or 0.5 relaxation in CGPA may be permitted for admission to the Ph.D. program in Humanities and Social Sciences.
For For Part-time/ Sponsored (Full Time) Programs:
Only employees of PSU’s or Govt. Departments or R & D Organizations or Private Industries (approved by Faculty Boards) are eligible for admission to these programs. All the candidates should have a minimum experience of two years (full time) after B.Tech./ M.Sc./ M.A. or equivalent as on date of registration. For all the candidates, the requirement of qualifying in a National examination is waived off. For Part-Time Programs, the candidates should be working within a radius of 50 Km of IIT Delhi. For Part-time candidates from outside NCR (or at a radial distance of more than 50 Km from IIT Delhi), there is a minimum residency requirement of 6 months.

Admission Procedure

For M.Sc. in Chemistry: Bachelor’s Degree with Chemistry as a subject for three years/ six semesters with valid score in JAM (CY). The candidates should have passed Mathematics at (10+2) level.
Note : The General/ OBC-NCL category candidates should have scored 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) in the Qualifying Degree; while the SC/ ST/ PH category candidates are given a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying degree marks.

Admission Procedure

The admission to M.Sc. is based on the score in the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) conducted by one of the Indian Institutes’ of Technology on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of 3 years of education after completing H.S.C. (10+2) or equivalent. The General/ OBC-NCL category candidates should have scored 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or a CGPA of 6.75/10 in the Qualifying Degree; while the SC/ ST/ PH category candidates are given a 5% relaxation in marks or 0.5 relaxation in CGPA.
For MBA (Telecommunication Systems Management) & Executive MBA:

The Total Fees Payable at the time of admission for B.Tech., B.Tech.-M.Tech. Dual Degree & Integrated M.Tech. courses is Rs. 58,635/- (Rs. 13,635/- for SC/ST category candidates) which includes Rs. 3,100/- (One Time Payment), Rs. 51,035/- (Rs. 6,035/- for SC/ST category candidates, Payable Each Semester), Rs. 4,000/- (Refundable Caution Deposit), Rs. 500 (Medical Insurance Premium Per Annum). The Hostel fee is additional. The Annual Fee for Foreign Students is US$2000 + other charges in Indian Rupees (for SAARC countries) & US$ 4000+ other charges in Indian Rupees (for other countries).
The fee for M.Tech., M.S. (R) & M. Des. courses (for Institute/ Project Assistantship or Teaching Position Holders) is Rs. 20,300/- per student per semester which includes Tuition fee of Rs. 5,000/- & Other fee of Rs. 15,300/-.
