Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engg./ Mechanical Engg./ Electronics & Communication Engg./ Computer Engg. / Instrumentation Engg./ Aeronautical Engg. or equivalent with 60% marks (First Division) or 6.75 CGPA in 10-point scale OR M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry (with Mathematics up to Graduation level)/ Electronics/ Material Science/ Electronic Instrumentation or equivalent with not less than 60% marks in the absolute system or a minimum grade of 6.75 on a 10 point grade.
Note 1: 30% seats are reserved for Muslim applicants, 10% seats are reserved for Women applicants who are Muslims, 10% seats are reserved for OBCs-NCL and ST category candidates who are Muslims (as per the list notified by the Central Government) & 3% seats are reserved for PD category candidates. 5% seats are filled by internal students of Jamia Millia Islamia who have passed their qualifying examination (X or XII) from Jamia Schools as regular students. One seat (over and above total seats) in each Discipline is reserved for Kashmiri Migrants & One seat (over and above total seats) in each discipline is reserved for candidates from Jammu & Kashmir.
Note 2: The Foreign Nationals/ NRI’s may apply as Regular candidates under General category/ against Supernumerary Seats/ as ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) Sponsored Candidates. Department/ Institute/ Agency/ SLET/ valid GATE Score (with qualifying marks)/ DST – Inspire Fellows. OR The teacher fellowship holders of the recognized College/ University/ Institution, provided that the competent employing authority issues a NOC to the candidate to join Ph.D. Programme OR ICCR-Sponsored candidates.
The Central/ State government/ PSU employee(s) should apply thorough proper channel and should produce NOC at the time of Interview.

- The fee for M.Tech. course is Rs. 56,590/- per student per annum.
- The Foreign Nationals/ NRI’s who seek admission as Candidates Under General Category have to pay US$ 1500 per annum.
- The Foreign Nationals/ NRI’s who seek admission against Supernumerary Seats have to pay US$ 3000 per annum. In addition to that, these candidates have to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000/- as Admission Fee and Rs. 8,000/- as Refundable Security at the time of admission. These candidates are given a concession of US$ 500, if they are from SAARC Countries or they possess proper documentation of “Refugee Status”.
- The ICCR Sponsored candidates have to pay the same amount of fee as paid by other regular candidates.
