Passed 10+2 exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 75% marks in the 12th class exam, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class/ qualifying exam conducted by the respective Boards, category-wise. The SC/ ST applicants are given a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum eligibility requirement.

The admission is based on the score in the JEE (Advanced) Exam conducted by one of the IITs’. The candidate must have appeared in the JEE (Main) Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (For details visit www.nta.ac.in or https://jeemain.nta.nic.in) and he/she must be among top 2,50,000 candidates (including all categories) who qualify in JEE (Main) Paper 1 to be eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) (For details visit www.jeeadv.ac.in).
The qualified candidates are required to register & fill the Application form On-line only. The Counselling for admission is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) (For details visit https://josaa.nic.in).

Four Academic years comprising of 8 Semesters for B.Tech. Course, Five Academic years comprising of 10 Semesters for B.Tech. + M.Tech. Dual Degree Program.

The General category applicants should have First Class or 60% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 6.0/10 and the SC/ ST applicants should have First Class or 55% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 5.5/10 in the qualifying exam. The candidates having degree from Foreign Universities should submit equivalence certificate from AIU, New Delhi for qualifying exam & proof of having First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) or equivalent in the qualifying exam.
Note : The B.Tech. graduates from the IITs with a CGPA/CPI score of 8.0 or above (on scale of 10) are eligible for admission without GATE score. The candidates having 2 years of relevant work experience are also exempted from GATE score, provided their candidature is sponsored by the employer.

The On-line Application Form & Information Brochure are made available on the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Website (www.iitb.ac.in/acad/) in the month of February/March. The candidates can apply for more than One Program and can select up to 10 Preferences. If a Discipline has Multiple Specializations, each Specialization is counted as One Option. However, a candidate can submit only ONE application.
The Institute shortlists and invites a limited number of candidates for a Written Test and/or Interview based on the academic records & GATE score. The final selection is based on all of above, viz., Academic records, GATE score, Written Test & Interview. The SC/ST category candidates are offered direct admission solely based on their GATE Score & their preferences.

Two Academic years comprising of 4 Semesters for Full Time Course, Three Academic years comprising of 6 Semesters for Part Time Course.

For Indian candidates:
The candidate should have One of the following in appropriate Subject areas with First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) : (i) Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent degree. (ii) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology. (iii) Master’s degree in Science or equivalent degree. (iv) For Ph.D. in IDC and Department of Humanities & Social Sciences only – Master’s degree in Arts/Commerce or equivalent degree.
The candidates should also fulfil One of these additional requirements – (i) Valid GATE/CEED Score, (ii) JRF of CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT or DST INSPIRE Fellowship, (iii) Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience, (iv) Candidates having UGC-NET Lectureship are also eligible for Teaching Assistantship in addition to other academic qualifications in Humanities & Social Sciences Department.
The candidate having an IIT B.Tech. Degree and having a minimum CGPA/CPI of 8.00 (on 10 scale) and above are exempted from requirement of valid GATE score. They are admitted to Ph.D. Program under TA/TAP/RA/RAP positions through Written Test/ Interview.
For International candidates:
The students holding foreign passports (including persons with OCI or PIO cards) are eligible to apply. For Engineering disciplines, a 4 year Bachelor’s degree is the minimum qualification. For Graduates in Science disciplines, a Master’s degree or equivalent is a must for applying. The candidate must have valid GRE and TOFEL examination scores and should be sent along with their applications.

For Indian candidates:
The On-line Application Form & Information Brochure are made available on the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay’s Website (www.iitb.ac.in/acad/) in the months of March/April for July academic session and September/October for January academic session. A candidate can apply for up to Three Disciplines/ Specializations. The Institute shortlists and invites a limited number of candidates for an Entrance Test and/or Interview.
For International candidates:
The Downloadable Application Form & Information Brochure are made available on the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay’s Website (www.iitb.ac.in/acad/) in the months of September/October for July academic session and March/April for January academic session. A candidate can submit multiple applications, if he/she wishes to apply to more than One Program by paying separate application fee. The Departments/ Centres/ IDPs/ School can hold Internet supported Interviews with the prospective candidate in case it is recommended by the Admission Committee.

Passed Class XII or equivalent exam in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts and Humanities). Those who have appeared in the qualifying exam may also apply provided their result is declared before 30th September of the academic year of admission. The candidate should have also qualified through Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED). The Foreign Nationals including OCI/PIO card holders who fulfil the above mentioned eligibility conditions are also eligible.

The admission is based on the score in an Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in the month of December/January (For details visit www.uceed.in). The UCEED qualified candidates are required to fill the Common On-line Application Form made available through IIT Bombay Admissions Portal in the month of May/June (For details visit www.iitb.ac.in/acad/).

The General/ OBC-NCL applicants should have scored 55% marks or equivalent grades, while the SC/ ST applicanst should have scored 50% marks or equivalent grades in the qualifying exam. The candidate should have also qualified through Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED). The International students with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grades in the qualifying exam and Valid TOEFL score (for candidates from Non-English speaking countries) are eligible for admission.
For M.Des. (Industrial Design): Minimum four year (10+2+4) Bachelor’s course in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design OR Minimum four year (10+2+4) Professional Diploma in Design.
For M.Des. (Communication Design)/ M. Des. (Animation Design): Minimum four year (10+2+4) Bachelor’s course in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design OR Minimum four year (10+2+4) Professional Diploma in Design OR BFA (4 Year professional program with entry after 10+2) OR GD Art (4 year program after 1 year foundation. Minimum entry requirement 10th pass). The candidates with GD Art diploma additionally require one year professional experience in design areas.
For M.Des. (Interaction Design): Minimum four year (10+2+4) Bachelor’s course in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design OR Minimum four year (10+2+4) Professional Diploma in Design OR BFA (4 Year professional program with entry after 10+2) OR GD Art (4 year program after 1 year foundation. Minimum entry requirement 10th pass). The candidates with GD Art diploma additionally require one year professional experience in design areas. OR Master’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Computer Application.
For M.Des. (Mobility & Vehicle Design): Minimum four year (10+2+4) Bachelor’s course in Design/ Engineering/ Architecture/ Interior Design OR Minimum four year (10+2+4) Professional Diploma in Design OR BFA Sculpture (4 Year professional program with entry after 10+2).

The Application Form & Information Brochure are made available on the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay’s Website (www.iitb.ac.in/acad/) in the month of February/March. The applicants are free to apply to any number of streams. Separate application forms must be submitted for each stream along with applicable fee.
The Institute shortlists and invites a limited number of candidates for M.Des. Written Test and M.Des. Interview based on the CEED score. The Final merit list is the total of CEED marks, Written test & Interview marks with 30%, 40% and 30% weightage respectively. The admission of International students is based on the marks in the qualifying examination.

Two Academic years comprising of 4 Semesters.

For M.Sc. in Applied Geology: Bachelor’s degree with Geology as a subject for 3 years/6 semesters & any two subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences. The candidate should have passed Mathematics at (10+2) level. The candidate has to qualify JAM Geology (GG) Paper for admission.
For M.Sc. in Applied Geophysics: Bachelor’s degree with both Physics & Mathematics/ Mathematical Physics as subjects for 2 years/4 semesters and at least one of them as a subject for 3 years/6 semesters. The candidate has to qualify JAM Physics (PH) Paper for admission.
For M.Sc. in Applied Statistics & Informatics: Bachelor’s degree with either Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for 2 years/4 semesters. The candidate has to qualify JAM Mathematical Statistics (MS) Paper for admission.
For M.Sc. in Biotechnology: Bachelor’s degree in any Branch/Subject. The candidate should have passed Mathematics at (10+2) level. The candidate has to qualify JAM Biotechnology (BT) Paper for admission.
For M.Sc. in Chemistry: Bachelor’s degree with Chemistry as a subject for 3 years/6 semesters and should have passed Mathematics at (10+2) level. The candidate has to qualify JAM Chemistry (CY) Paper for admission.
For M.Sc. in Mathematics: Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject for 2 years/4 semesters. The candidate has to qualify JAM Mathematics (MA) Paper for admission.
For M.Sc. in Physics: Bachelor’s degree with Physics as a subject for 2 years/4 semesters & Mathematics for 1 year/2 semesters. The candidate has to qualify JAM Physics (PH) Paper for admission.

The candidate should have passed Mathematics at (10+2) level. The candidate has to qualify JAM Biotechnology (BT)/ JAM Chemistry (CY)/ JAM Mathematics (MA)/ JAM Physics (PH) Paper for admission.
For M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Operations Research: Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics/ Statistics as a subject for 2 years/4 semesters. The candidate has to qualify JAM Mathematics (MA)/ Mathematical Statistics (MS) Paper for admission.

The admission is based on the score in the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) which is an All India Examination administered & conducted across the country by one of the IITs’. The JAM Qualified candidates are required to submit the Application Form for Admission on the JAM Website.

Master’s degree in Arts/ Commerce or equivalent with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST applicants) or equivalent letter grade from a recognized University/ Deemed University OR B.Tech./ M.Sc. degree or equivalent with adequate background in Social Sciences with 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) or equivalent letter grade.

The On-line Application Form & Information Brochure are made available on the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay’s Website (www.iitb.ac.in/acad/) in the month of March/April. The admission is based on the score in the M.Phil. Entrance Test (MET) conducted at IIT Bombay in the month of June by IIT Bombay/ GATE/ UGC-JRF/ UGC-NET. The qualified candidates are invited for Interview.

For Indian candidates:
A four year Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree in any discipline with first class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST applicants) out of 10, from the Universities incorporated by an act of the Central or State legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. OR CA/ICWA with a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with first class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST applicants) out of 10.
For International candidates:
An International applicant is one who holds a foreign passport, or has Indian passport but is studying/working abroad continuously for more than or equal to two years (as on 30 September of preceding year of joining the program. One who holds a foreign passport and does not have Indian passport, should have cleared TOEFL or IELTS.
A four year Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree in any discipline with first class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST applicants) out of 10 OR CA/ICWA with a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with first class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST applicants) out of 10.

For Indian candidates:
The candidate should have a valid score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by one of the IIMs’, securing a minimum section-wise and overall percentile in CAT (For details visit www.catiim.in). The On-line Application form & Information Brochure are made available on the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Website (www.som.iitb.ac.in OR www.iitb.ac.in/acad/) in the month of January. The CAT qualified candidates are shortlisted and invited for Written Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview.
For International candidates:
The candidate should have a valid score (not older than two years) in the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (For details visit www.mba.com or www.gmac.com). The Off-line Application form & Information Brochure are made available on the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Website (www.som.iitb.ac.in OR www.iitb.ac.in/acad/) in the month of January. The GMAT qualified candidates are shortlisted and are required to appear for an Interview and/or Situational Analysis over Telephone/ Teleconferencing/ Skype.

Two Academic years comprising of 4 Semesters.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized University in India or abroad and at least 7 years of work experience including five years’ managerial experience. The candidate should have good proficiency of spoken and written English & Functional computer skills. The candidate should submit a commitment letter from the organization that the candidate works for, even if the candidate is financing the program. Further, two recommendations for admission are also required to be submitted in the prescribed format. The candidates is also required to submit a personal statement and three essays on certain topics which provide a good background about the candidate’s credentials, quality of experience and motivation.

The candidate is invited for an Interview either to SJMSOM or to the Olin campus, as is convenient to the candidate. The Interview Panel evaluates the quality of experience, leadership ability, communication skills and motivation of the candidate.
