For Indian Candidates:
The candidate should be an Indian National. He/ She must have either appeared at HSC/ Std. XII exam or equivalent qualification of any board in India or abroad, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Life Sciences (and desirably with Mathematics) or, if the result of the exam. has been declared, he/ she must have passed the same exam with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (40% marks for the reserve category applicants). The Minimum age : 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
For NRI/ PIO/ FN Candidates:
A candidate in any of these categories shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31 December of the year of admission. He/she must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Life Sciences and English (and desirably Mathematics) at the CBSE, ISC, HSC or an equivalent exam.
In the case of a student from any school that follows the American System of education, the candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology (and desirably Mathematics) at AP’ (Advanced Placement) level and must have minimum ‘C’ grade in these subjects.
In the case of students passing Cambridge International Examination (CIE) the candidate should have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology at “Advanced” level along with English at “Advanced Subsidiary” (AS) level.
Note: Under the NRI/ PIO/ FN categories, only those students who have studied and passed the qualifying exam from schools and/or colleges located in foreign countries (all countries other than India) are considered. This includes the students studying in schools and colleges situated in the foreign countries, even if the concerned school/college is affiliated to any Board of Secondary Education or a University in India. However, the wards of NRIs/ PIOs/ FNs, who are studying for the qualifying exam in schools located in India, are excluded.

For Indian candidates:
The admission is made on the basis of the merit of the candidate in All India Biotechnology Common Entrance Test (AIBTCET) conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. The On-line Proctor Based Entrance Test consists of 100 objective type MCQs in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) carrying 100 marks (25 marks each subject). The Counselling is conducted by Dr D Y Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute.
For NRI/ PIO/ FN Candidates:
A candidate belonging to this category is not required to appear at the AIBTCET. However, he/she shall submit a separate application, in the prescribed form, available in the Vidyapeeth Office and on the Vidyapeeth Website. A committee, appointed by the competent authority for the purpose shall admit candidates on the basis of their inter se merit. The candidate is required to pay a processing fee of US $ 200.
Note: In case any seat earmarked for NRI/PIO/FN is not filled in by the candidate(s) of any of these subcategories, the Management fills in such vacant seat(s) from the candidate(s) who has/ have cleared the AIBTCET and has/ have applied for the seat separately in the prescribed form available in the Vidyapeeth Office and Website.

Four Academic years comprising of 8 Semesters for B.Tech. and Five Academic years comprising of 10 Semesters for M.Tech. (Integrated)

A candidate having passed Master Degree exam from a recognized university, i.e., (M.Sc. or M.Tech.) Degree from any branch of Science related to Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics such as Chemistry/ Biology/ Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Plant Environmental/ Pharmacy/ Environmental/ Pharmacy/ Agriculture Science/ Pharmaceutical Sciences etc. with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

All the candidates are required to register & fill the Application form On-line only on Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune (Deemed to be University) Website (https://dpu.edu.in). The NOC from the HOD and Head of Institute concerned is also required to be enclosed.
The admission is made on the basis of the merit of the candidate in All India Entrance Test (AIET) conducted by/at Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. The Entrance Test comprises of two papers : (i) 50 MCQs of 1 Mark each on Research Methodology (ii) (a) 30 MCQs of 1 Mark each and (b) 4 Short Notes of 5 Mark each (Pertaining to Specialization/ Interdisciplinary subject). The open category applicants should score 50% marks & the reserved category applicants should score 45% marks to qualify for Personal Interview as Viva Voce on research proposal.
Thereafter, the candidates are given provisional registration & are required to complete Pre-Ph.D. theory course work of one semester duration which is followed by Pre-Ph.D. exam (two attempts). The open category applicant has to score a minimum of 50% marks in each paper and 55% marks in aggregate (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC-NCL applicants) to be eligible for Ph.D.
Note: These candidates are exempted from Pre-Ph.D. course : Who has qualified UGC/CSIR (JRF)/ SLET/ NET/ SET/ Teacher Fellowship Holder/ Candidates already holding M.Phil. Degree & admitted to the Ph.D. programme/ Candidates who have already completed the course work in M.Phil. & have been permitted to proceed to the Ph.D. in integrated course.

Minimum three years, including Course work and a maximum of six years. The women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed a relaxation of two years for Ph.D. in the maximum duration.

For Indian and NRI/ PIO/ FN Candidates:
Bachelor (B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hon), B.Tech.) in Biology/ Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Human Biology/ Biotechnology/ Pharmacology/ Agriculture Biotechnology OR B.Pharm. OR M.B.B.S. OR B.V.Sc., of recognized Indian or Foreign University.

For Indian Candidates:
The admission is made on the basis of the merit of the candidate in All India Post Graduate Biotechnology Entrance Test (AIPGBET) conducted by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. The Entrance Test is On-line Proctor Based. The Counselling is conducted by Dr D Y Patil Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Institute.
For NRI/ PIO/ FN Candidates:
