For B.Tech. Programs:
The candidate must be either 17 years of age or attain the age at the time of admission. The candidate must have passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent exam from a recognized Board of Education securing minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC applicants) in the aggregate of all subjects. Physics, Chemistry and English are compulsory and the student should have cleared either Mathematics/ Biology in Standard XII exam leading to an aggregate of 50% as mentioned above.
Note 1: The candidates with Mathematics are eligible for B.Tech. Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics and Data Science/ Biomedical Engineering/ Food Science and Technology.
Note 2: The candidates with Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics and Data Science/ Food Science and Technology.
For M.Sc. (Integrated) Program:
The candidate must be either 17 years of age or attain the age at the time of admission. The candidate must have passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent exam from a recognized Board of Education securing minimum 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC applicants) in the aggregate of all subjects. Physics, Chemistry and English are compulsory and the student should have cleared either Mathematics/ Biology in Standard XII exam leading to an aggregate of 50% marks as mentioned above.

All the candidates are required to register & fill the Application form On-line only on D Y Patil Deemed to be University Navi Mumbai Website (www.dypatil.edu).
The admission is based on the Score of recognized National/ State Level Entrance Examinations/ Entrance Test of the School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics D Y Patil University Navi Mumbai.

Four Academic years comprising of 8 Semesters for B.Tech. and Five Academic years comprising of 10 Semesters for M.Sc. (Integrated).

A graduate student having completed any of the following with minimum 50% marks in B.E./ B.Tech. Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Chemical Engineering/ Biomedical Engineering/ Bioprocess Technology OR B.Pharm. OR M.B.B.S. OR B.D.S. OR M.Sc. and equivalent.

For M.Sc. Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology/ Food Science and Technology/ Genetic Engineering: A graduate student having completed three years Science Degree Program in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Life sciences/ Zoology/ Botany/ Chemistry/ Microbiology/ Applied Biology/ Biochemistry/ Genetics/ M.B.B.S./ B.D.S./ M.V.Sc. with minimum 50% marks.
For M.Sc. Industrial Microbiology: A graduate student having completed three years Science Degree Program in Biotechnology/ Microbiology with minimum 50% marks.
Note: The candidates who are due to appear in the final semester/ year of the qualifying exam are considered for appearing in the Entrance Test provided the candidates have secured 50% or equivalent grade in previous semesters. However, in the event of selection, the admission is subject to their securing the minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying exam.

For Indian Candidates:
All the candidates are required to register & fill the Application form On-line only on D Y Patil Deemed to be University Navi Mumbai Website (www.dypatil.edu). The admission is based on the Score in the Entrance Test of the School of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics D Y Patil University Navi Mumbai.
For NRI/ PIO/ FN Candidates:
A candidate belonging to this category is not required to appear in the Entrance Test. Preference is given to the Foreign Nationals and wards of Persons of Indian Origin settled abroad. These candidates are required to submit the Original documents or attested copies of : Indian Embassy in the student’s country OR Mission/Embassy of the Student’s country in New Delhi, OR Ministry of Education in student’s country; Provisional admission application form completed in all respects; Eight passport size photographs; 10+2 or equivalent mark sheet/grade sheet; 10th or equivalent mark sheet/grade sheet; Gap certificate if applicable; Migration certificate; Student’s passport; Sponsor’s passport and Visa; Sponsor’s Letter; Registration certificate; Residence permit.
Note: The candidates in General Category who desire to be considered for admission against vacant seats in FN/ PIO/ NRI category and who agree to be governed by the fee structure of this category, have to submit a separate application which can be obtained from the Admission Office of the University in addition to application. The vacant seats are filled on the basis of inter-se-merit of such applications based on their Entrance Test marks.
