Location of Swaroop Sagar Lake:
This small lake is a part of the Pichhola lake and is located towards South of the Rang Sagar Lake in Udaipur City, District Udaipur, Rajasthan.
History of Swaroop Sagar Lake:
It was built during the reign of Maharana Swaroop Singh (1842-1861 A.D.).
Architecture of the Lake:
The length and the width of the lake are 800 meters and 250 meters respectively, while it has a water spread area of 0.2 Sq. Km. It provides a waste weir for Pichhola Lake and also links Pichhola Lake and Rang Sagar Lake with the adjoining Fateh Sagar Lake through a canal. The canal is sometimes used to draw water in Fateh Sagar Lake during monsoons when Pichhola Lake maintains a higher water level. A masonry dam is located towards the Eastern side of this lake.
