Location of Gulab Bagh:

This Garden is located near Pichhola Lake on Lake Palace Road in the Southeast of City Palace in Udaipur City, District Udaipur, Rajasthan.

History of Gulab Bagh:

This Garden is also known as ‘Sajjan Niwas Garden’ as it was established in the year 1850 A.D. by Maharana Sajjan Singh.

Attractions of Gulab Bagh:

This is the largest Garden of Udiapur City. It is spread over an area of 100 acres and derives its name from innumerable varieties of rose flowers that are grown here. Besides roses, it also has palm trees, orchids, acres of lush green lawns and several step wells. A small zoo is located within the garden having a mini train and animals and birds of many varieties.

An elegant building (previously known as Victoria Hall) which was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria of England, is located within the boundaries of the garden. Now, it houses a Library known as Sarasvati Bhawan Library, which was established by Maharana Fateh Singh. It houses books related to History and Archaeology and many manuscripts belonging to early medieval period.
