Samode Palace:
The beautiful 475 year old Palace provides a fine example of the Rajput haveli architecture. A splendid example of regal Indo-Saracenic architecture, the Palace combines the best of Indian and Mughal styles. Samode Haveli:
An urban oasis in the historic walled city of Jaipur, the Haveli is a traditional Indian mansion set in a verdant garden with apartments arranged around a series of intimate courtyards. Built 175 years ago as a residence of the rulers of the historic town, it is still occupied by their descendants, who have converted their home into a luxury hotel. The haveli is built facing north. It has an elegant painted dining room and an air passage. It has a unique ambiance of the historic juxtaposed against a contemporary setting. An elephant ramp, specially constructed at the entrance to the haveli, was laid in 1940 on the occasion of the marriage ceremony of a member of the Royal family.
Samode Bagh:
Driving through the rural countryside you will chance upon an ancient wall travelling beside you and wonder what lies behind. On entering the wide gates you will notice the horses being groomed in the stables. A palatial marble façade will rise up in panoramic magnificence in front of your eyes. Walk through the cool and discreetly splendid main lounge into 20 acres of carefully manicured gardens. Laid out 250 years ago by Rawal Sheo Singh ji of Samode, the garden is the private garden retreat of the Royal family. Designed in the classical “Char Bagh” style, complete with water channels and fountains, it is one of the oldest functional Mughal gardens of Rajasthan.
