This Gurdwara is in the memory of the Great Saint Dhanna Ji who was born here in 1415 A.D. to Father Bhai Panna Ji and Mother Reva Ji. He was a very hard-working person and earned his livelihood by farming. He liked the company of Saints and when he grew up he went to Kashi and became a disciple of Swami Ramananda Ji. Though born in a Hindu Jat family, he rejected all the traditions of Hindus like idol worshiping. He instead controlled his desires and found God from his heart. The Fifth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji said that Dhanna Ji served the God with the innocence of a child. Three Shabads (holy hymns) of Dhanna Ji have been incorporated in the holy Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
