History of the Fort:

It was in this Fort that Tantya Tope (a Great freedom fighter who fought against the British rule during the 1st War of India’s Independence in 1857) had stayed for some time. This Fort is a witness to a fierce battle fought between Indian soldiers led by Tantya Tope and British troops in the fields of Rakamgarh in 1857.
