Location of Devgarh:
This famous and ancient town is located at a distance of 12 Km from Pratapgarh City on the top of a small hill in District Pratapgarh, Rajasthan.
History & Architecture of Important Places at Devgarh:
Earlier it was the Capital of Pratapgarh and was known as ‘Devliya’. This place is surrounded by some small hills and is situated at the height of 1809 feet from sea level.
The attractions here are :
- A famous Temple of Beeja Mata where an annual Fair is organised.
- Temple of lord Ragunath Ji is situated in the Rajmahal itself, where a solar clock is placed on the top of it. The clock tells time according to the light of sun.
- Hari Temple – It was built in the 11th Century A.D. and has the black-colored idol of the deity placed on a raised platform.
- Raghunath Temple
- Goverdhan Temple
- Ganpati Temple – It was built in the 15th Century A.D. and terracotta stone has been used in its construction. It faces the West and has the terracotta image of Lord Ganesha placed on an elevated platform.
