Location of the Palace:

This Palace was also known as the Wind Palace and is located in Jhunjhunu City, District Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.

History of the Palace:

This architectural marvel was built in 1770 A.D. by Thakur Bhopal Singh, the grandson of Thakur Sardul Singh. It is said that Sawai Pratap Singh of Jaipur was inspired by the architecture of this building to construct the Hawa Mahal of Jaipur in 1799 A.D.

Architecture of the Palace:

It has been designed to allow maximum flow of air through the building. For this purpose, at many places marble pillars have been erected instead of walls. A ramp ascends through the Mahal from the entrance right up to the terrace, so that the Rajput rulers could ride up on their horses. The interiors have huge beautiful halls with majestically built arches and pillars. The entire structure is devoid of any wooden doors and windows.
