Location of Jaipur:
The District of Jaipur is situated in Rajasthan State of Northwestern India. It is 11117.8 Sq. Km. in area. It is surrounded by District Alwar on the Northeast, Districts Dausa and Sawai Madhopur on the Southeast, District Tonk on the South, District Ajmer on the Southwest, District Nagaur on the West and District Sikar on the Northwest. The City of Jaipur is the headquarter of this District.
The City of Jaipur is also the Capital of Rajasthan State. It is commonly known as ‘Pink City’. It was built in 1723 by Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. It was planned by Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya, a Bengali architect, in a grid system with wide straight avenues, roads, streets and lanes and uniform rows of shops on either side of the main bazaars, all arranged in nine rectangular city sectors called ‘Chokris’.

Climate of Jaipur:
The Climate of Jaipur is mostly dry with extreme variations in temperature with hot and humid Summers and chilly Winters. This District experiences three main Seasons –
- Summer – From April to July when maximum temperature rises to 45oC, while average temperature remains around 40oC.
- Monsoon – From third week of July to September with average annual rainfall of 655 mm and average temperature around 35oC.
- Winters – From October to March when minimum temperature falls around 5oC and average Day temperature remains around 22oC. The Winters have sunny and pleasant Days and bitterly cold Nights.
