History:
It was the place of penance of Mandav Rishi. This place also finds mention in the great Epic Mahabharata as the place where Arjuna shot an arrow into the ground and a spring of Ban-Ganga came out.
Architecture:
It is famous for a group of ancient Temples and hot and cold water springs known for their healing properties. Amongst all the Temples, the Shiva temple is famous for its typical Panchayatna (five houses) pattern. A large number of pilgrims visit here. This place is surrounded by thick lush green forests.
