Higher Secondary or 10+2 exam or its equivalent exam from any recognized Board of Education with 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST applicants) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
Three years Diploma in the relevant branch of Engineering/ Technology with 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST applicants) from Mizoram University or a Board of Technical Education recognized by Mizoram University.

The admission to 50% seats is based on the merit/ rank in the
JEE (Main) Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (For details visit

The remaining 50% seats are filled on the basis of the score in the Mizoram University Engineering Entrance Exam (MZU-EEE) conducted by Mizoram University (For details visit https://mzu.edu.in).
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
The admission is based on the score in the Mizoram University-Lateral Entry Engineering Entrance Exam (MZU-LEEEE) conducted by Mizoram University (For details visit https://mzu.edu.in).

Passed B.Tech./ M.Sc. or equivalent exam in relevant branch from any recognized University/ Institute with 55% marks in aggregate (50% marks for SC/ST applicants) with valid GATE score or must qualify Mizoram University Master of Technology Entrance Exam (MZU-MTEE). The list of relevant branch in B.Tech./ M.Sc. or equivalent exam is decided by the Departmental BOS subject to the approval of Academic council.

Admission Procedure in School of Engineering and Technology Mizoram University
The admission is based on the score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (
GATE) conducted jointly by the IISc and all the IITs OR Mizoram University Master of Technology Entrance Exam (MZU-MTEE) conducted by Mizoram University. The GATE/ MZU-MTEE qualified candidates are required to appear in the Personal Interview (For details visit https://mzu.edu.in).
