The Tripura Institute of Technology is a Government Institute administered by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Tripura. Erstwhile, it was a ‘Polytechnic Institute Narsingarh’ established in the year 1958 by the State Government of Tripura. The Degree courses were introduced from the academic session 2007-08.
The Tripura Institute of Technology has a branch of Tripura Gramin Bank, Post Office located near the Agartala Airport, Medical facility (own Ambulance & Medical care unit), Central Library Facility, Computer Network based on fibre optic technology, Sports Facility, Modern Labs in all the Departments.

Eligibility
First Year of Engineering & Technology:
Pass in H.S. (+2 stage) Exam or its equivalent with at least four subjects from a recognized board of education with 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. An applicant must be a bonafide citizen of India & a permanent resident of Tripura.
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
Passed Diploma in Engineering/ Technology from any recognized Board/ Council/ University with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates). An applicant must be a bonafide citizen of India & a permanent resident of Tripura.
Admission Procedure
First Year of Engineering & Technology:
The admission is based on the score in the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) & Counselling Conducted by the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination, Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Tripura (For details visit http://tbjee.nic.in).
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
The admission is based on the score in the TIT Lateral Entrance Examination (TITLEE) conducted at the Institute Campus in the month of July by Lateral Entrance Examination Committee, Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Tripura (For details visit www.titagartala.nic.in/).
Duration
Four Academic years comprising of 8 Semesters, Three Academic years comprising of 6 Semesters for lateral entry candidates.

Eligibility
Passed the Madhyamik Examination or its equivalent from a board recognized by Tripura Board of Secondary Education with 50% marks (45% marks for SC, 40% marks for ST category candidates) in aggregate in English, Mathematics & Physical Science. An applicant must be a bonafide citizen of India & a permanent resident of Tripura. The applicant should be within 21 years of age as on the 31st May of the year of admission (relaxable by 3 years for SC/ST/PH candidates).
Admission Procedure
The admission is based on the marks in the qualifying examination and is done through a merit list prepared by the Centralized Admission Committee of the Directorate of Higher education, Government of Tripura.

Fee Structure of Tripura Institute of Technology
The Fee for different courses as fixed for the year 2016-2017 in Tripura Institute of Technology is as follows:
The fee for B.Tech. course (as fixed for the year 2015-2016) is Rs. 6,930/- per student per semester. The fee to be paid by the students admitted through LEET is the same as applicable to their counterpart students admitted in the four year B.Tech. Program.
The fee for Diploma course (as fixed for the year 2015-2016) is Rs. 3,661/- per student per semester.
