History of Sajjangarh Palace:

It was built in 1884 A.D. by Maharana Sajjan Singh (the ruler of Udaipur from 1874-1884 A.D.). But due to the premature death of the Maharana, the plan was cancelled and the structure was abandoned. Later on, it was used as a Monsoon Palace and Hunting Lodge.

Earlier, it was occupied by the royal family of Udaipur, but now it is under the control of the Forest Department, Government of Rajasthan and has been opened for tourists.
