This ancient Temple is situated at a distance of 38 Km North of Rajsamand City in District Rajsamand, Rajasthan.
History of Temple Shri Charbhuja Nath Ji:
This Temple is dedicated to Lord Charbhuja Nath Ji (Lord Vishnu).
It is believed that the idol installed here is self made and was worshiped by the Pandvas during the Mahabharata period. It is said that Shri Gang Dev Ji was instructed in his dreams to recover the idol from water and construct the Temple for its installation. So this Temple was built in 1444 A.D. by Shri Gang Dev Ji. At this place, 125 battles were fought over the Centuries to protect this idol and many a time it was submerged in water for safety. The river Gomati flows close to this Temple.
Architecture of the Temple:
The Temple has high pinnacles and the highest pinnacle is on the Sanctum Sanctorum. The Temple is adorned with excellent mirror work. The shutters of the inner temple are made of gold, while the outer shutters are made of silver. The Sanctum Sanctorum has the 85 cm. high idol of Lord Charbhuja Nath Ji and the outer courtyard has the idol of Garud Ji (the Lord’s carrier). Two elephants made of stone are located at the entrance on either side.
Visiting Hours in the Temple:
The Temple remains open on all days from 5.00 A.M. to 10.00 P.M.
