Location of the Temple:

This ancient Temple is situated at a distance of 24 Km from Javaibandh Railway Station and 8 Km from town Shivganj on the outskirts of Village Korta, District Pali, Rajasthan.

History & Architecture of the Temple:

This Temple is dedicated to Lord Mahavir Ji, the 24th Tirthankar of Jains.

The evidence in scriptures shows that this Temple was built 70 years after the Nirvana of Lord Mahavir Ji. It was renovated in the year 1671 A.D. and as the ancient idol got broken, the new idol was installed. The new idol also got broken and another one was installed in 1902 A.D. The artistic ancient idol has been kept on an open square. There are ancient arched gates and many artistic remains of the 13th century A.D. and a museum under the Temple. There is enough evidence that once Korta was a big and prosperous City. The idol of Lord Mahavir Ji is white colored, 135 cm in height and is seated in Padmasana posture.
