This Temple is dedicated to Lord Parshavnath, the 23rd Tirthankar of Jains. In the ancient times, it was a very prosperous City and was known as Pallika or Palli. The Temple was built in the 10th Century A.D. and is known for its splendid architecture. It was renovated in the year 1087 A.D. and at the time of its renovation, large quantities of Ghee was taken from the merchants of the City. When the merchants came to demand the money, they saw that the ghee was used for a very pious purpose, so they refused to accept the money amounting Rs. nine lakhs. Hence, the Temple was named as Navalakha (nine is known as Nava in Hindi). The Temple was again renovated in the year 1629 A.D.
