This is one of the biggest Dams of Western Rajasthan located at a distance of about 110 Km from Pali City near Village Jawai Bandh of Tehsil Sumerpur, District Pali, Rajasthan.
History & Architecture of the Dam:
It was got constructed in the year 1946 by Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur on River Jawai, a tributary of River Luni. It is the main source of water supply to Jodhpur and Pali Districts. It also provides water for irrigation to many Villages of Jalore and Pali Districts when there is adequate water. It is about 18.5 m in height and has the storage capacity of about 6000 million cubic feet.
