This beautifully carved, white marble Temple is more than 7000 years old. It was built by the Pauranic King Amrish who had established Amravati Civilization in this area. He performed 100 ‘Ashva Megh Yagyas’ here. The King of Devtas, Devraj Indra felt threatened and attacked him. Lord Rishikesh saved King Amrish from the wrath of Indra. The Yagya Kund still exists here.
The Pauranic Temple of Karnikeshwar Mahadev built in grey marble is situated at a distance of few meters.
