History:

It is the place from where Maharaj Yudhisthira, the eldest of the Pandava brothers had sent Nakula (one of the younger brothers of Yudhisthira) to bring a sacred canopy for his sacrificial hall. This fact has been mentioned in Mahabharata, Mahapurana etc.
