Location of Dattatreya Temple:
This ancient Temple is situated at a distance of 33 Km from Aburoad Railway Station, 15 Km from Mount Abu City on Guru Shikhar, the highest point in District Sirohi as well as in Rajasthan State.
History of the Temple:
It is dedicated to Lord Dattatreya, who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva. It is said that Lord Dattatreya worshiped a Shiv Linga at this place in a cave. The holy feet in stone of Lord Dattatreya are installed here and are worshiped. The footprints of Shri Ramanand Swami Ji, a Great Saint are also here.
Architecture of the Temple:
The Temple has a huge bell suspended from a wooden frame with an inscription dating back to 1411 A.D. To the Northwest of the Temple is a Shrine dedicated to Mata Ansuya, the mother of Lord Dattatreya. It has an idol of Mata Ansuya.
Visiting Hours in the Temple:
The Temple remains open on all days from 6.00 A.M. to 7.00 P.M.
