Location of Temple Shri Mahadev Ji:

This Temple is situated at a distance of 40 Km from Kota City in town Char Choma Sorsan of Tehsil Ladpura, District Kota, Rajasthan.

History of Temple Shri Mahadev Ji:

It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti.

It is said that the Solanki queen had been pregnant for 12 years but her foetus did not grow. Thus, the Solanki King and the queen came to Char Choma from Mandsor and they offered their prayers to Lord Shiva here with the request that if Lord Shiva blessed them with a child, they would build a temple. By the grace of Lord Shiva, the royal couple begot a son. Therefore, they built this Temple to pay homage to Lord Shiva.

Architecture of Temple Shri Mahadev Ji:

The Temple is built of stone in Nagar style of architecture. It is based on a square platform with the Sanctum Sanctorum having four pillars supporting the roof. All the pillars are adorned with patterns of flowers and leaves. The Sanctum Sanctorum also has a square platform on which the black stone idol of four-faced Shiva Lingam is installed. The black stone idol of Goddess Shakti is installed at the back of the Temple. A beautifully designed stepwell is located close to the Temple.

Visiting Hours in Temple Shri Mahadev Ji:

The Temple remains open on all days from 6.30 A.M. to 7.30 P.M.
