This Barrage is located about 1 km upstream of Kota City, District Kota, Rajasthan.

History & Architecture of Kota Barrage:

It was constructed in the year 1960 as part of the irrigation canal system on the Chambal river. It diverts the water released after power generation at Gandhi Sagar Dam, Jawahar Sagar Dam and Rana Pratap Sagar Dam for irrigation in States of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh through canals. It is an Earth-fill dam with a concrete spillway and 18 huge gates. The total length of the main canals, branches and distribution system is about 2342 Km.
