Location of Shri Mahaveer Ji Temple:

This Temple is situated at a distance of 28 Km from Karauli City in town Shri Mahaveer Ji (Chandanpur), District Karauli, Rajasthan.

History of Shri Mahaveer Ji Temple:

This Temple is dedicated to Lord Mahaveer Ji, the 24th Tirthankar and other Tirthankaras.

It was built in 1714 A.D. by Shri Amar Chand Bilala, a Digambar Jain of Village Basawa. It is believed that the idol of Lord Mahaveer Ji appeared miraculously from the earth and the place was declared as extraordinary and the Temple was constructed.

Architecture of Shri Mahaveer Ji Temple:

The architecture of the Temple is based on Jain style and is built of marble and red stone. There are exquisite carvings on marble and pictorial depictions representing mythological themes on walls. The canopies and walls are decorated with golden oil paintings and gold work. The three pinnacles of the Temple bear golden kalash. An emerald stone idol of Lord Mahaveer Ji is installed in the sanctum sanctorum. A 52 feet high pillar made of marble bears four statuettes of Tirthankaras. The Temple has huge sprawling campus.

The Temple remains open on all days from 5.00 A. M. to 10.00 P.M.
