History of Rani Sati Temple:
This Temple is dedicated to Rani Sati, believed to be an incarnation of Goddess.
It has a history of more than 400 years. Rani Sati was the wife of a young Agrawal man who died in a battle. After the death of her husband, she committed Sati and the Temple was constructed at the place of her sacrifice. It is said that she had previously taken birth as Uttara and was the wife of Abhimanyu, the son of Arjun (one of five Pandavas) during Mahabharata Period. She wanted to commit Sati upon the death of her husband Abhimanyu, but as she was pregnant at that time, Lord Krishna had asked her to give birth to the child and commit Sati in the next birth. Lord Krishna had also given her the divine knowledge about her next birth.
Architecture of Rani Sati Temple:
It is built of white marble and is adorned with beautiful murals and colorful wall paintings. The most remarkable feature of the Temple is that it does not have an idol of any God or Goddess, but a trident in the form of power and force is worshiped. A beautiful portrait of Rani Sati has been placed in the Pardhan Mand having imposing pinnacle. The Temple complex also has a Lord Hanuman Temple, Goddess Sita Temple, Lord Ganesha Temple and Lord Shiva Temple.
A sacred Pujanutsav (a huge fair) is held here on the occasion of Bhado Amavasya (the no moon day of August/September).
