This Temple is situated at a distance of 7 Km from Jhalawar City on the banks of Lake Gaumati Sagar in town Jhalara Patan, District Jhalawar, Rajasthan.
History of Temple Shri Dwarkadhish Ji and Navneet Priya Ji:
It is said that the idols of Shri Dwarkadhish Ji and his consort Navneet Priya Ji were recovered from a place which belonged to Ganga Ram Luhar and Ratan. These were given to Maharaja Jalim Singh of Jhalawar, who got this Temple constructed in 1806 A.D. to install these idols.
Architecture of Temple Shri Dwarkadhish Ji and Navneet Priya Ji:
This Temple has been built after the style of Dwarkadhish Temples at Kankarauli and Rajsamand. It is built of stone and lime mortar and its outer wall has four battlements on four sides. It has high gates, open verandahs, a Nakkara khana located nearby, a big chowk, the prayer hall and the square-shaped Sanctum Sanctorum having the black stone idol of Dwarkadhish Ji, attired like a cowherd, installed on a wooden throne and the idol of Shri Navneet Priya Ji. At the back of the temple, there is a huge lake and there is a lush green forest on the front side.
Visiting Hours in the Temple:
The Temple remains open on all days from 7.00 A.M. to 10.30 A.M. and 3.30 P.M. to 6.30 P.M. A Herbal Garden and a Choupati are also located near this Temple.
