This ancient Temple is situated at a distance of 105 Km from Jalore City and 35 Km from town Bhinmal on a mountain called Sundha in the midst of Malwara to Jaswantpura Road near Village Dantlawas of Tehsil Raniwara, District Jalore, Rajasthan.
History & Architecture of Sundha Mata Temple:
This Temple is dedicated to Goddess Chamunda Ji. It is said to be about 900 years old and is made up of white marble. Its pillars are adorned with carvings just like the Delwara Tamples of Mount Abu. The beautiful idol of Goddess Chamunda Ji is installed under a huge stone. In this Temple the head of the Goddess is worshiped. A BhurBhuva Swaweshwar Shivling is installed in front of Goddess Chamunda. The main Temple has very old idols of Shiva-Parvati and Lord Ganesha. The Temple bears historically important inscription like the Harishen inscription or Delhi’s Mehraulli pillar inscription and it throws light on the history of India.
