It has been recovered from underneath a mound. It is said that this Temple was destroyed during attacks by Sultan Ala-ud-din Khilji and Pathan rulers. One more opinion is that it went uncared for some time and got buried under sand. A stone inscription in the Temple indicates that Rudal Devi had prayed here in 1207 A.D, but the time of its construction is not known. It was repaired many times due to which many other stone and pillar inscriptions have been lost. Only those ancient stone pillars are safe on whom idols were present, thinking it to be sacred.
