This Temple is situated at a distance of 2 Km from Dungarpur Railway Station in Manek Chowk area of Dungarpur City, District Dungarpur, Rajasthan.
History of the Temple:
This Temple is dedicated to Lord Rishabhdev Ji, the 1st Tirthankar of Jains. It was built in 1469 A.D. by Sheth Sanvalldas Davada.
Architecture of the Temple:
The 105 cm high, white-colored metal idol of Lord Rishabhdev Ji is seated in Padmasana posture. The Muslim rulers thought it to be a statue made of gold, so they damaged it. The idol was then re-installed. The Parikar (canopy) of the idol is made of metal and the pictures of the 24 Jain Tirthankaras are visible in it. The Palasana (the holy platform on which the idol is installed) of the idol is very artistic and the paintings of the scenes of the fourteen dreams, the nine plintings plants, the eight mangals and Yakshas and Yakshinis are visible in it.
The Temple provides good boarding and lodging facilities.
