Location of the Temple:

This Temple is located at a distance of 4 Km from Dholpur City in old Cantonment area, District Dholpur, Rajasthan.

History of the Temple:

It was built during the reign of Raja Keerat Singh in 1800 A.D. It is believed that the idol of Lord Rama was recovered by a cowherd from earth at the boundary of the erstwhile Karauli and Dholpur States. The Raja purchased the idol and built the Temple.

Architecture of the Temple:

The Temple is made of Dholpur red sandstone. The idol of Lord Rama is made of Ashtadhatu (eight metals) and has four arms like Lord Vishnu, bearing a Shankh (conch), a Chakra (discus), a Gada (mace) and a Padma (lotus flower) in his hands. Another 3 feet high idol made of marble is of Goddess Laxmi. The Temple also has a 7 feet high idol of Lord Hanuman.

Visiting Hours in the Temple:

The Temple remains open on all days from 5.00 A.M. to 10.00 P.M.
