Location of the Fort:

This massive Fort is located on Bikaner – Jaipur – Agra National Highway 11 at the centre of town Ratangarh, District Churu, Rajasthan.

History & Architecture of the Fort:

It was built in 1812 A.D. by Raja Ratan Singh of Bikaner. It is said that this fort was attacked twice by Thakur Prithvi Singh, the son of Churu King with the support of Maharaval Laxman Singh of Sikar in the year 1815 A.D. and 1816 A.D. In both the attacks, the caretakers of the fort namely Lalshah Syed and Purohit Jethmal were killed whose descriptions are mentioned in the inscriptions in the fort. The massive fort was constructed in the middle of the town with a boundary wall around the town with four gates. A second small fort was also built in the town. But now both the forts lie in a ruined state.
