This eight pillared Chhatri or Dome is located to the West of the vegetable market in Churu City, District Churu, Rajasthan.
History & Architecture:
It was built in the year 1776 A.D. on the site of Rajput’s cremation ground. Its base has been virtually buried by wind-blown sand. Its interior is covered with murals with one mural depicting an early European mercenary on foot, bearing a musket.
The Chhatris of the Mantri, Lohia and Bagla merchant families are located towards the North of Churu City.
