It was established in the year 1988.

It is spread over an area of 50 Sq. Km. It has a series of table lands, gentle slopes and lakes, thus providing an opportunity for viewing animals by boat and angling. It is habitat to Panther, Wild boar, Antelopes, Deers, Mongoose and Migratory birds. However, the prior permission has to be obtained from the District Forest Officer, Chittorgarh to visit it.
