History of Temple Shri Beejasan Mata Ji:

This Temple is dedicated to Goddess Beejasan (the Goddess Durga seated on Rakta Beeja demon). It is believed that this Temple was built in 44 A.D. by Shri Kamal Nath Ji who was a great devotee of Goddess Durga. The Goddess was pleased and appeared before him.

The Goddess Durga has been given the name Beejasan because she fought a fierce battle against demon Rakta Beeja and killed him. This demon had been blessed with an extraordinary kind of boon that every drop of blood falling from his body on the earth would turn into a Rakta Beeja of the equal power. The result was that there were millions of Rakta Beeja demons. Then the Goddess decided not to let the blood of these demons fall on the earth. She therefore, took as many forms as the demon Rakta Beeja had and collected the falling blood in a bowl and drank it up. Finally, the Goddess killed the demon Rakta Beeja.
