Architecture & Attractions of Nawal Sagar Lake:
This is a square shaped Lake having a number of small islands. It provides a breathtaking reflection of the Garh Palace during sunset. The water to this man-made Lake is supplied by a network of Nullahs (drains) running from the surrounding hills. These Nullahs were constructed during the reign of Rao Rajas. The Temples of Varuna, the God of Water and Lord Shiva are situated at the centre of the Lake, thus enhancing the beauty of the Lake. A huge and beautiful idol of Gajalakshmi is installed at one edge of the lake. It is believed that this is the only idol of Gajalakshmi installed in India.
