Location of Jain Temple of Keshoraipatan:

This ancient Temple is situated at a distance of 45 Km from Bundi City near river Chambal in Keshoraipatan town, District Bundi, Rajasthan.

History of Jain Temple of Keshoraipatan:

This Temple is dedicated to Shri Munisuvrat Nath Ji, the 20th Tirthankar of Jains. It was built in the 2nd Century A.D.

Architecture of Jain Temple of Keshoraipatan:

It is situated on a higher place near river Chambal. The idol of Munisuvrat Nath Ji is made of dark green stone, is 4.5 feet in height and is seated in Padmasana. It has a three tiered umbrella overhead and a halo in the back. It is installed in an underground basement of the Temple. The basement has 16 beautiful pillars, a unique piece of art and architecture. Six other idols of the 13th Century A.D. are also installed here. A beautiful idol of Lord Padmaprabhu (the 6th Tirthankar of Jains) on a white flat rock is also here.

The idol is known for miracles. It is said that Muhammad Ghauri, the Sultan of Ghazni tried to demolish the idol. When his soldiers attacked on the foot thumb of the idol with chisel and hammer, a flood of milk came out and all the soldiers ran away in panic. The marks of attack on the body of the idol are still visible.

The Temple has facilities of a Dharmshala (Inn) with 16 rooms and Bhojanshala (mess).
