Marble has also been used in front of the inner Temple and the entire floor is also built of marble. A small shrine built of brick and round stones is located inside the inner Temple. It is said to have been built 600 years ago by Karni Mata Ji herself. The 1.3 feet wide and 2.5 feet high idol of Karni Mata Ji is installed inside the Sanctum Sanctorum and is also known as ‘Dewali’.

One unique feature of the Temple is the presence of thousands of rats inside the Temple, who move freely without any fear and also, despite the presence of so many rats, no incidence of Plague has been reported here.
