Location of Temple Shri Kapil Muneshwar Ji:
This Temple is situated at a distance of 50 Km from Bikaner City on Bikaner-Jaisalmer Road and 6 Km from Kolayat Railway Station in Kolayat town, District Bikaner, Rajasthan.
History of the Temple:
It is dedicated to Kapil Muni Ji, a great sage and incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
The ruler of Bikaner Rao Rai Singh (1574-1612 A.D.) believed that this place was used by Kapil Muni for asceticism. So he built the Temple in the 16th Century A.D. in the memory of the great sage.
Architecture of the Temple:
The Temple is located on the banks of a beautiful water body and is built of white marble, red stone, brick and lime mortar. The idol of Kapil Muni Ji is installed in the inner Temple, on the left side is the idol of Garudji, on the right side the idol of Sage Vashistha Ji and one idol is of Kapil Ji’s mother Devahuti Ji.
Visiting Hours in the Temple:
The Temple remains open on all days from 5.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. and 5.00 P.M. to 9.00 P.M.
