Location of the Fort:

The remains of this small Fort are located near Shri Laxmi Nath Ji Temple at the Southwest end of the old walled City of Bikaner, District Bikaner, Rajasthan.

History & Architecture of the Fort:

It was built by Rao Bika Ji in 1485 A.D. when he laid the foundation stone of Bikaner State. Around this Fort, the City of Bikaner was established in 1488 A.D. This Fort continued to be occupied by the royal family of Bikaner until a huge Junagarh Fort was built in 1589 A.D. by Rao Rai Singh (the sixth ruler of Bikaner between 1574-1612 A.D.). Thereafter, this Fort fell into ruins and today only remains of some parts are visible here.
