It was built in the middle of the 11th Century A.D. by a Bhil tribal, who is believed to be one of the first settlers. He built the Shiva Temple on the site of the existing Jataun ka Mandir. The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is also renowned by the name of Bada Mandir.
