Location of Temple Shri Brahma Ji Asotara:
This Temple is situated at a distance of 11 Km from Balotra Railway Station in town Asotara, District Barmer, Rajasthan.
History of the Temple:
This Temple is dedicated to Lord Brahma. The foundation stone of the Temple was laid in the year 1961 and it was completed in 1984 by Shri Kheta Ramji Maharaj.
Architecture of the Temple:
The main entrance hall has been built of yellow stone of Jaisalmer, while the rest of the Temple is built of Jodhpur stone. The entire Temple is adorned with unique carving work. The idol of Lord Brahma Ji is a unique piece of sculptural elegance and is made of marble. The idol of Mata Gayatri Ji is installed on its side. The Temple also has idols of these Great Sages – Maharishi Uddalak, Maharishi Vashishta, Maharishi Kashyap, Maharishi Gautam, Maharishi Pippalada, Maharishi Parashar and Maharishi Bhardwaj.
The cenotaph of Shri Kheta Ramji, made of Makrana marble is also located inside the Temple Complex.
Visiting Hours in the Temple:
The Temple remains open on all days from 7.00 A.M. to 10.00 P.M. It provides facilities of lodging to pilgrims in its 102 rooms and 11 halls at nominal rates and also has a Bhojanshala.
