The Temple is located on the top of a hill at a height of about 500 feet and is approachable by a flight of 361 steps. It is dedicated to Goddess Yogmaya, the illusionary power of God and the Sister of Lord Krishna.
Yogmaya is sister of Lord Vishnu. She is secret power of Lord Vishnu. Lord Krishna ordered Yogmaya to transfer soul of child from Devaki to Nand’s second wife Rohini & herself seated in Devki’s womb. We know that when King Kansa tried to kill baby she flew in sky & told him that his killer has already taken birth somewhere.
Even today, the lightening which we see in sky is Yogmaya who becomes active on seeing black clouds.
