Location of Tripura Sundari Ji Temple:

This ancient Temple is situated at a distance of 19 Km from Banswara City near Talwara town, District Banswara, Rajasthan. On the Banswara-Dungarpur Road, one has to take a left turn at Talwara (14 Km) and then go straight (5 Km) to reach the Temple.

History of Tripura Sundari Ji Temple:

This Temple is dedicated to Goddess Tripura Sundari, a form of Goddess Durga. The Goddess is known as ‘Tartai Mata’ by the common people of the region.

This Temple is believed to have been built before the rule of Emperor Kanishka (78-127 A.D.) of Kushan dynasty. The year of construction is not known, but the Temple is said to be one the 51 Shakti Peethas, having divine power.

Architecture of Tripura Sundari Ji Temple:

The Temple is built amidst a sprawling campus of 15 bigha land. It is built of brick, lime mortar, stone and marble. The 5 feet high black stone idol of Goddess Tripura Sundari is seen riding a tiger and has 18 arms with each hand carrying some symbol. The idols of Nav Durga (nine forms of Goddess Durga) and 64 Yoginis have also been installed here.

At the entrance a Hanuman temple is built and a Neelkanth Mahadev temple is situated at the backside. A Swarn Kirti stambh was established in 2006 by 14-Chokhla Panchal Samaj in the Northeast part of the Temple.

The Temple has the facilities of a Dharmshala (inn), a Bhojanshala, a garden with fountains, parking, police station, sulabh complex, sunset point and water hut for the tourists.

Visiting Hours in the Temple:

It remains open on all days from 5.00 A.M. to 8.00 P.M.
